Did you know that Montgomery is the second oldest village, with construction beginning in March 1971? With thanks to Annette Mach for her book entitled Panorama of The Villages, “The opening coincided with an event in Evergreen Valley honoring John Montgomery. His name was well known in the area due to his accomplishments in the field of aerodynamics and the decision was made to name the newest village after this historical figure.”
